LEEDS English Defense League/Unite Against Facism PROTESTS

Happy Hallowe'en y'all! Now, everybody suitable drowned in sugary awesomness to the point that you cannot actually avert your eyes from my scrawlings? Jolly good, I shall continue.

It began at 12:00 with a cry of determinationfrom the assembled and the armies began to swell thier numbers. The Police, the EDL and UAF/ANTIFA alike. As the numbers increased, bangs were heard throughout the streets as fireworks were thrown and small conflicts began. The Police routed thier forces and seperated any contact between the two offending parties and began an extreme blockade of many roads in and around Leeds. Like a well-oiled machine they functioned, maintaining the peace and enforcing the law, mearly by standing thier ground and using commanding tones and harsh words as thier swords.

The protests organized, stirring chants arose that echoed around the city, reverberating like verbal fire off the walls of the proud old buildings of Leeds. The Police Cavalry being the only moving unit at the time, they maintained contact with all other units on a city-wide circuit. The protests continued, with the UAF brutally beating an innocent EDL man whom had merely made an honest mistake by joining the wrong group. EDL forces were kept, firmly enclosed in an area by the Queen's Hotel and the Train station. They acted loudly, yet peacefully, humiliating the Anti-fascist troops with a grand display of emotional fortitude, though they too had thier own twisted "firestarters".

The protests continue, it is later in the day and reports are coming in regarding assaults around the city. Stabbings, muggings, beatings, the fire is raging, with the flames eating away at the supporting structure of organized society. Leeds itself may not have burned this day, but the people of Leeds raged with the passionate fires of faith and belief in thier views.

Your ambitious and unbiased reporter took no side (though I must extend my sympathies once more to the EDL man who suffered at the unforgiving hands of the UAF mob, but as mentioned, sins of violence were commited city-wide by many of different backgrounds.) and risked all and suffered injury (an EDL man tried to lay me out) to bring you this information and the following photographs. Apologies for the quality of some of them and the lack of much "action"...camera is, as previously mentioned, in appaling condition, and getting it to work in time for sudden events is difficult, but I did my best before the batteries died.

Police cavalry going to action.

UAF forces after brutally attacking an EDL man. (Far right, being rescued by Police.)

Police line, and random man with bike.

UAF protest central, outside Leeds Art Gallery.

Another Police line. The Flatcap in the foreground was bawling at them like a military drill-sergeant.

EDL protest central, organised, but nowhere near as grand as UAF central.

Two EDL lads in thier uniforms.

As a testament to why the EDL aren't Arian-Nazi's, I found a patriotic young asian woman within the crowd, also many more black and asian participants.

An example of one of the cordoned-off statues. This was done ALL OVER LEEDS.

Possibly one of my favourite shots. An EDL clash with Police. At this point, there were thoughts of a full-scale riot in the works, with UAF acting in much the same way at the same time.

Welp, there you have it. My war correspondance on the Leeds Hallowe'en protests!

Now, if you'll excuse me...I'm off to nurse a Headache.

Have fun, yours;

Pumpkins and protests...

Not much occured today save for PUMPKINSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
(Ah lovez mah Pumpkins.)

I have to say, I'm rather proud of these gorgeous things. Sadly, though the Dragon Fruit hollowed out nicely, it shrivelled when a candle was placed inside, so no success there. However, it did briefly glow a beautiful bright pink.

Rather than make biscuits out of the fruit, I made a smoothie...it wasn't very pleasant. In regards to culinary wonders, I roasted the Pumpkin seeds to munch later, and will use the flesh to make PUMPKIN PIIIIIIIE!

Mmmm, Pie.

Thats all for today really, but a note on tomorrow;

The EDL (English Defense League) are doing a march through Leeds city centre. Coming up the other way to meet them are...ANTIFA and UAF (Unite Against Fascism). ANTIFA are militant antifascists and the EDL are peaceful protesters. (They're not really very right wing at all, they're just against militant Islam.) Problem is, the BNP and what remains of East19 and the National Front will be joining them...Google East19 and ANTIFA and you'll see why I'm scared. Still, I shall be on the rooftops holding my Anarchy flag with pride...but watching this time, rather than joining in.

I'm genuinely terrified this is going to escalate in to a re-occurence of the Bradford Riots...

Will update tomorrow with news regarding the events.

Yours,

Switchblades and flick-knives, psychotic kids and thier terrible lives...

So yesss...I was in town today with friends, allies and compadres when I was introduced to a new shop for all things wonderful; "Fantasia".
(Now, before I continue, I should point out that I am a great collector of swords and knives and other bladed weaponry. I can use them all with great efficiency and yet...ironically, I am a diehard Pacifist. I find it difficult even to slap someone playfully on the back...but I do so love my swords. ^-^;)
Anyhoo, regarding "Fantasia". It is a shop full of swords, knives, guns and the like, both decorative and (worryingly) for use. So, while my friends and I perused the produce of the dark forges of Hell (Sheffield probably...) three young boys (10 and under probably) came in to the shop. They also began to peruse...rather more loudly than us however. Their conversations as overheard by us;
Boy; "Cor, knuckledusters!"
Shopkeep; "Actually, thats a belt buckle."
Boy2; "Yeah, but you could still do someone up with it right?"
Shopkeep; "..."
Boy3; (To myself, as I was talking to the other shopkeeper about a sword I was holding at the time.) "Woah, you gonna use that on someone?"
Me; "No...why, would you?"
(etc.)

I worry, indeed I was rather unnerved to be around such creatures of amorality...they were only kids and they were that determined to hurt someone! The value of life is dropping with the economy it seems...
Still, as it was, they were ousted from the shop and I was free to purchase for myself a delightfully crafted flick-knife in 14Carbon, blue-steel.

Hm...from "Fantasia", our little group ventured forth to the outdoor market where, whilst Anna, Katie, Mollie, Lil and..."Andeh's little sister" (Sorry!) bought miniature Pumpkins, I acquired this monstrosity;

The man on the stall proclaimed it as a "Dragon Fruit"...as far as I'm concerned, it looks just like the egg-sacs from the "Alien" films. It has a thick skin, greeny-pink on the outside and smooth save for the Artichoke-like leaves. When you cut in to it, the skin is deep Pink and the interior...the interior is something else entirely. Snow-white with the texture of watermellon, sprinkled with thousands of tiny black seeds...I may harvest them and attempt to grow them. The first fruit has been duely eaten (a bit plain, with an underlying sweetness.) and the one you see before you I intend to hollow out and (after trying to make biscuits out of the soft insides) I will carve a face in to and turn it in to a HALLOWE'EN DRAGON FRUIT! Pics later, I promise.

Oh yes, then theres this; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cnYvMC2fCo&feature=PlayList&p=7B47CF09B2272B7A&index=0&playnext=1

The Protomen...what a wonderful band they are. I was introduced to them by reading the latest issue of "Johnny Wander" (http://www.johnnywander.com/) and have been listening to this Youtube playlist repeatedly ever since. (Which was only since yesterday morning in case you're wondering whether I've been doing this non-stop for MONTHS, overloading my mind with Megaman audio-fanfiction.) So yes, if you're in to punk, psychobilly, indie, rock-opera...listen in.

Now, more about "Johnny Wander"! I have been an avid reader of comics since an early age. I have seen them change, evolve, originate and become cliche. "Johnny Wander" sparks my interest because it is structured with such a beautiful, unique and refreshing art style, humourous storyline and though seemingly quite simplistic at times, never fails to immerse the reader and leave them want more, more, MORE! I check everyday in hope of new updates and am rarely disappointed! I HIGHLY recommend reading this fantastic diary of the events of the life of its creators (with the odd narrative thrown in here and there.) and the people they meet and things they do. Go on, give it a try, I dare you!
(Yes, I'm really hoping Ananth or Yuko read this...if so, hyola, love the comic!)

Thats all for now I think...I shall go back to listening to the Protomen and being terrified of small children with a determination to hurt me...

Have fun, yours;

First post and I'm wondering what to write...

Well now, this is new. That is to say, old plan, new thing.

Having intended to start a blog for quite a while now, I finally decided to get around to doing just that; blogging. But why now? I'll tell you; it is because I am a grade-A* procrastinator. I can procrastinate about procrastination whilst procrastinating about something completely insignificant. Still, I'm here now and with any luck, I'll be able to keep at it.

I figure I'll do the usual thing that bloggers appear to do; narrate my existence, review books I've read, films I've seen and music I like, post photos of my everyday goings on (which'll be interesting since I haven't got a working camera right now and the prospect of getting a new one is looking bleak.) the odd drawing or two (more likely, as I draw ALL THE TIME.) and just generally detail my exploits upon and around the globe.

I will do my utmost to make my blogology an interesting and refreshing concept in your daily net-life but I promise nothing. I write how I write and I'm not changing that specially for t3h 1n73Rn37Z.
HOWEVER - For my sins, I'm told I'm actually rather good at writing in a entertaining fashion so I aim to please.

I think, for now, I shall leave it all at this standpoint. I need sleep for now and this I feel will give people a reasonable idea as to what I'm trying to achieve. More later today maybe.

Have fun, yours;
